Packing Seals & Engineering offers all types of Seals and Gaskets. Our seals and gaskets are designed to prevent some form of liquid (media), dust, air, gas, or other foreign objects from entering or exiting a component. The main purpose of a seal or gasket is to fill the gaps of what is otherwise two imperfect mating surfaces. With the seal or gasket, there will be leak paths. Also, our seals or gaskets may be used for EMI/RFI application or when thermal management is necessary.


Most often a seal or gasket material will have the ability to be compressed and can recover a portion of its original thickness to fill the necessary gap.  Material selection is a key component of the success of a gasket.  The environment, compression forces, mating surface finishes, media, and temperature ranges are all needed information when considering the ideal raw material choice.


Gaskets can be produced by a wide variety of manufacturing processes.  The most common process is die-cutting.  This process starts with a steel rule die that is generally not very expensive. The steel rule die is made to produce the desired shape of the gasket.  Various type of hydraulic or electrical presses are used with the steel rule die to produce the gasket.  Our presses range from operator engaged presses for lower volume to automated presses for much higher volume.  Other type presses that fall within this category are water-jet presses, knife cutting, and slitter type presses (for providing weather-stripping type gaskets).


  • Electronics is a way of life and growth won’t slow any time soon.  With the growth has come the increasing need for managing electromagnetic interface (EMI) and radio frequency interface (RFI).  We see this need with consumer electronics as well as military, defense and aerospace applications.   Gaskets can be a critical solution to help manage EMI and RFI.  A common way to manage EMI concerns is to completely encase the electronics in a conductive enclosure.   Typically, this will involve the use of a housing, lid and a conductive gasket.  The conductive gasket is where we come into play.
